Here you will find all the information you need to get to our venues and the festival centre. The information is listed separately for travelling on foot, by public transport, by bike or by car. We would ask you to travel without a car whenever possible. People with mobility impairments can find all the information about car parks at the respective venue.
General public transport and bicycle information
Buses & trams: Barrier-free buses and trams are labelled with a wheelchair pictogram on the side. At the stops, there is always a tactile and visually perceptible marking at the height of the front door of the vehicle. Detailed information on accessibility (including information pillars, text-to-speech functions, etc.) at Bernmobil, the municipal transport company of Bern, can be found here.
You will find PubliBike stations at Bern railway station and many other locations and close to every venue, where you can hire bikes - especially for short inner-city tours.
Festival centre in transformation (intra)
The intra is located in the centre of the city on the Bollwerk, just a few minutes from Bern railway station. From here you can reach all the venues in a short time, the longest distance is to the Dampfzentrale, which is located just outside the city centre on the Aare river. The intra is surrounded by main roads and there is a car park nearby, as well as PubliBike stations and bicycle spaces.

From Bern Bahnhof: 5 minutes on average
From the station, walk down Bollwerkstrasse to number 39 and you will quickly reach your destination, which is located near the large Hodlerstrasse junction.
From Tojo Theater: 3 minutes on average
Across the street from intra is the alternative cultural centre Reitschule, which houses the Tojo Theater.
From Schlachthaus Theater: 13 minutes on average
From the Schlachthaus Theatre, walk along Rathausgasse to Waisenhausplatz, where you will soon reach the intra via Hodlerstrasse.
By public transport
From Bern Bahnhof: Bus 11, 20 or 21 (2 minutes)
Take bus 11 in the direction of «Neufeld P+R», bus 20 in the direction of «Wankdorf» or bus 21 in the direction of «Stuckishaus» and get off at the first stop after the railway station at the «Bollwerk» stop.
From Dampfzentrale: Bus 30
First take bus 30 (this line only runs in the evening) from «Dampfzentrale» to «Bern Bahnhof». Then change to one of the lines described above under ‘from Bern railway station’.
From Schlachthaus Theater : Tram 9
Walk for 5 minutes and take the tram from ‘Zytglogge’ in the direction of ‘Bern Bahnhof’. Then change to one of the lines described above under ‘from Bern railway station’.
From Tojo Theater
The Tojo Theatre is on the opposite side of the street, there is no public transport connection between the two.

From the railway station, cycle down Bollwerkstrasse to Bollwerk 39 + 41 and reach your destination here.
By car
The Schützenmatte, Neubrückstrasse 2, 3012 Bern, is located in the immediate vicinity (1 minute walk) of intra, where there are individual parking spaces for people with mobility impairments. There are also individual parking spaces for people with mobility impairments on the nearby Hodlerstrasse. The nearest covered car park to intra is Metroparking, Waisenhausplatz 19, where there are 3 parking spaces for people with mobility disabilities and 10 secure ‘women's’ parking spaces. The car park is brightly lit 24/7.
Dampfzentrale
The Dampfzentrale Bern is located slightly below the city centre on the River Aare in the Marzili district, so the route there is always slightly downhill. As the Dampfzentrale is located somewhat away from the city centre, the path to it is not always equally busy. In addition, not all sections of the path are equally well lit in the evening.
On foot
From Bern Bahnhof, railway station: 22 minutes on average
Leave Bern railway station in the direction of the Loeb department stores' and then walk through Christoffelgasse to the park of the Kleine Schanze. There you can either take the Marzili funicular railway or walk down to the Aare. Follow Marzilistrasse and turn left at the roundabout to Dampfzentrale Bern. The Dampfzentrale is located at Marzilistrasse 47.
By public transport
From Bern Bahnhof railway station: 15 minutes on average (including a short walk)
Apart from the Marzili funicular railway, public transport only runs to the Dampfzentrale in the evening. Take bus no. 30 from Bern railway station to «Dampfzentrale».

From Bern railway station: 12 minutes on average
From the railway station, cycle down Hirschengraben from the junction at Bubenbergplatz and then continue straight ahead along Monbijoustrasse. Then turn left into Kapellenstrasse, then right into Sulgeneckstrasse. Follow this road down to the roundabout, where you continue straight on to the Dampfzentrale. Dampfzentrale is located at Marzilistrasse 47, with plenty of bicycle parking spaces and a PublikeBike station on the left-hand side in front of the building.
By car
There are many uncovered car parks in the immediate vicinity of the Dampfzentrale. These include individual car parks for people with mobility impairments at Marzilistrasse 39 and Marzilistrasse 45.
Schlachthaus Theater
The Schlachthaus Theatre is located in the lower old town of Bern and is easily accessible from Bern railway station. All the streets on the way to the Schlachthaus Theatre are very lively and well-lit both during the day and in the evening, as there are many shops and restaurants.
On foot
From Bern Bahnhof railway station: 17 minutes on average
From Bahnhofplatz, follow Spitalgasse and walk to the Zytglogge tower (approx. 10 minutes). Then turn left, cross Kornhausplatz and turn right into Rathausgasse (another 5 minutes). The Schlachthaus Theatre is located at Rathausgasse 20.
By public transport
From Bern Bahnhof railway station: 15 minutes on average (including a short walk)
Take one of the tram lines 6, 7, 8 or 9 or bus line 12 from ‘Bern Bahnhof’ to the ‘Zytglogge’ stop (two stops). From there, cross Kornhausplatz from the ‘Zytglogge’ stop and then turn right into Rathausgasse. The Schlachthaus Theatre is located at Rathausgasse 20.

From Bern Bahnhof railway station: 8 minutes on average
From Bahnhofplatz, follow Schauplatzgasse (just behind the Loeb department stores'), cross Bundesplatz and then continue into Amthausgasse. Then cross Casinoplatz and turn left into Hotelgasse, which eventually becomes Zibelegässli. Then turn right into Rathausgasse. The Schlachthaus Theatre is located at Rathausgasse 20 and there are bicycle parking spaces directly in front of the Schlachthaus Theatre. There is a station right next to the Schlachthaus theatre.
By car
The nearest covered car park to the Schlachthaus Theatre is the Rathaus parking at Postgasshalde 50, where there are 3 parking spaces for people with mobility impairments and 18 secure parking spaces for women. The multi-storey car park is brightly lit 24/7. There are also individual parking spaces for people with mobility disabilities at Rathausgasse 11 and Rathausgasse 46.
Tojo Theater
The Tojo Theatre of the Reitschule Bern is located in the centre of the city of Bern and is easily accessible from Bern railway station. The square in front of the Reitschule (Schützenmatte) can be very busy, especially at weekends in the evening/at night. From Bern Bahnhof railway station: 10 minutes on average
From Bahnhofplatz, follow the Bollwerk road until it bends to the right in a large curve. On the left-hand side you will see the Schützenmatte of the Reitschule Bern. Cross this large square and go through the large gate of the Reitschule Bern. The Tojo Theatre is at the very back of the courtyard.
By public transport
From Bern railway station: 10 minutes on average (including a short walk)
Take one of the bus lines 11, 18, 20 or 21 from ‘Bern Bahnhof’ to the ‘Bollwerk’ stop (one stop). From the bus stop, cross the large Schützenmatte square on the left-hand side and go through the large gate of the Reitschule Bern. The Tojo Theatre is located at the very back of the courtyard.

From Bern railway station: 5 minutes on average
From the railway station, follow the Bollwerk road until it bends to the right in a large curve. You can either park your bike in front of the Bollwerk restaurant and then walk across the large Schützenmatte square. Or you can leave it directly in front of the Reitschule, where there are also plenty of bicycle parking spaces. The nearest PubliBike station is at Bollwerk 41 (next to the intra).
